Traffic HD Anti-Slip the Perfect Coating for Staircases
Traffic HD Anti-Slip the Perfect Coating for Staircases
The National Construction Code (NCC) states that the slip-resistance for treads and nosing of new domestic stairs need to meet strict anti-slip criteria. This requirement also applies to all new and existing stairs in commercial buildings. In accordance with AS4586, interior stair treads must have a slip-resistance finish or a slip-resistance nosing strip. The classification required is a minimum P3 or R10 rating.
As this is a legal requirement contractors need to be diligent in ensuring staircase anti-slip levels are achieved where required. Using a different type of finish on the staircase to the floor is often necessary to achieve compliance.
Bona's range of finishes however solves this problem. With Bona there is no need to use different finishes or brands to match the different coating requirements throughout a project. The Bona family of finishes provides different sheen levels, grip levels and wear resistance levels to suit different situations, all within the same Bona range. This ensures consistency throughout from a single manufacturer to ensure a great overall result.
Bona Traffic HD Anti-Slip complies with AS 4586 and has an Anti Slip Rating of P4, which actually exceeds the requirements for staircases and other areas requiring anti-slip classification. As with all Bona timber flooring finishes Traffic HD Anti-Slip is water based and non-toxic, so there are none of the health risks associated with toxic solvent-based finishes. When it comes to coating staircases, it’s fair to say that Bona Traffic HD Anti-Slip is unsurpassed as the Professionals No1 Choice.
As Craig from Allwood FloorSanding in Melbourne says: “It was great that the sheen and appearance of the Traffic HD Anti-Slip we used on the treads matched the Traffic HD we used on the floor, eliminating the need to use a different type of finish”
