Beachside Home gets the Bona Treatment

This glamour home in the Perth beachside suburb of Sorrento received the full Bona treatment. The project was completed by Bona Certified Contractors Allwood Floor Sanding, and featured over 300 sqm of gorgeous Spotted Gum engineered flooring (supplied by BJ's Timber Flooring) throughout the multi million dollar new build home.

To prepare the surface Craig and the team at Allwood first ran over the engineered flooring with an 80 grit drum, then an 80 and 100 grit rotary. A base coat of Bona Prime Intense was then applied to seal and enhance the grain of the Spotted Gum Engineered 130mm planks, followed by two top coats of water-based Bona Traffic Matt.

The job also included the Installation of two staircases one being floating and the other with waterfall edges, Bona Traffic HD anti-slip being used on the Treads. Craig comments that the sheen of the Traffic HD anti-slip matched exactly the sheen of the Traffic coating on the floors, eliminating the need to use different types of finish. The house also features deep timber window surrounds, built in timber furniture and timber ceiling sections which compliment the timber floors and staircases beautifully. The attention to detail from the builder AJM Constructions is outstanding and the joinery is absolutely stunning, check out the images to see the close up detail.
