Brooke Street Pier, Hobart
The Brooke Street Pier is a floating pontoon building in the waterfront area of the city of Hobart, Tasmania, right next to the famous Constitution Dock. It was constructed in 2014–15 at a cost of A$13 million. It weighs 5,300 tonnes and was Australia's largest floating building upon completion. Bona Finishes are used throughout the pontoon to coat the Parmate Anthracite dark engineered hardwood floors. Parmate floors come pre-coated with Bona finish, making re-coating a simple and cost effective process when necessary.
The floors can also be re-sanded if required. Pedestrian traffic on the Pontoon is extensive and is in a harsh salt water environment. The Pontoon also incorporates the Ferry Terminal facilities for the infamous MONA art gallery and carries thousands of visitors a day.
